01/01/26: Adobo Velo Honor Ride Pledge Challenge
From: Elvis Rowe
The Adobo Velo Honor Ride Pledge Challenge is officially underway, and we’re inviting riders from all Adobo Velo chapters to take part.
This challenge supports Project Hero, an organization that uses cycling to help Veterans and First Responders with physical recovery and PTSD. The Las Vegas chapter is championing this effort because Project Hero hosts an annual Honor Ride in Las Vegas around Veterans Day — a truly unique event that includes a fully police-escorted ride down the Las Vegas Strip.
Last year, we raised $1,717 through this challenge. In 2026, the goal is to grow participation beyond Las Vegas and turn even more miles into impact.
There are two ways to participate:
• A Strava Mileage Challenge tracking miles from Jan 1 through Oct 31, 2026 (available to Strava Premium users)
• The Adobo Velo Honor Ride Pledge Club on Strava, open to all members, premium and non-premium
Ride where you are. Ride when you can. If you make one trip to Las Vegas each year, make it for the Honor Ride — it’s an experience worth having.
Join the challenge, invite a teammate, and help grow this effort across Adobo Velo.

01/01/26: Happy, prosperous, and healthy New Year
From our Prez: Deo Punongbayan
As we kick off 2026, I am honored to lead our club into our most exhilarating year yet. This year, aside from our traditional chapter picnic rides, I am especially thrilled to announce that we are elevating our rides with the return of a revised version of AV KOM (Kambing of the Mountain) events after a seven-year hiatus. It is designed to challenge our fellow members and bring a new level of spirited camaraderie to the road.
Beyond the added miles and climbs, and embracing healthy and friendly rides for all members, my core mission this year is for our club to ride with purpose. We have been incredibly blessed as a community, and I believe it is our responsibility to pay that forward. I am making it a priority to expand our community outreach, finding impactful ways to share our resources and 'ADOBO SPIRIT' with those in need. Let’s ensure our impact is felt far beyond the pavement we ride.
Let’s make 2026 a year of steady gears, open hearts, and unforgettable, meaningful miles together. See you at the next roll-out!

12/22/25: KOM (King of the Mountain) is Back!
From AV KOM:
New for 2026, Adobo Velo is excited to present the KOM Challenge!
The Adobo Velo KOM Challenge is a three-stage Kambing of the Mountain climbing series designed exclusively for Adobo Velo members. There’s no racing and no time limits, just camaraderie, community, and the satisfaction of personal achievement. Each stage is a beautiful, EPIC ride.
KOM Challenge rides are deeply rooted in Adobo Velo’s DNA. Classic rides like the Tour de Francis and Giro di Bri gave members a supported opportunity to stretch their wings and soar on routes reaching 100 miles with 10,000 feet of climbing.
Why Join the KOM Challenge?
Our goal is to help our members take on something extraordinary. Join us on this journey and you may be surprised by what you can accomplish.
Enjoy destination worthy cycling locations with your Adobo Velo family. Get the most epic cycling photos and videos, no plane ticket required.
Use the KOM Challenge as a stepping stone to your first or next double century. Let us help you reach your CTC goals.
Come ride with us, raise your ceiling in a supportive, safe environment and celebrate every summit.
Make 2026 the year you make it happen. Let’s go!

12/06/25: XMas Party!
From our Prez: Deo Punongbayan
I'm sure there will be many posts about our fantastic party last night, but as we just achieved something remarkable, I want to take this moment to appreciate the people behind this success. Without a doubt, this was the largest party ever hosted, led primarily by the EAGLE ROCK chapter. This success is a powerful testament to the incredible passion and unwavering support you brought to the event. I sincerely salute every single one of YOU!
A huge shout-out to our DECORATION group! You made the venue look festive and incredibly nice, setting the perfect atmosphere for our festive celebration with the help of our San Francisco Chapter's Ruby and Direk Alex Argue. A special thank you to Malvin Carino for the heartfelt PRAYERS that started our evening off perfectly.
My deepest appreciation is to the FOOD committee, headed by Cherminne Abner Hornedo and Alvin Hom (Won Kok Restaurant). They did an absolutely amazing job not just with the abundance of delicious food, but also with the very nice and enticing grazing table meticulously prepared by Cher, the ER member wives and the Camino children. Everyone was well-fed and happy! The raffle committee, Abner and Arnold Reynaldo, deserve major recognition for their effort in shopping for and securing such good stuff for the prizes! A special thank you to our PROGRAM committe Vicoy Vic, Mark William Calaway, ER Chapter Director JohnLouie Camino. The entire flow of the evening was seamless, engaging, and perfectly timed thanks to your hard work, creativity, and meticulous planning. I also extend my gratitude to our ex-president Mhel Mojica for his vital help with program implementation. And we can't forget our EMCEE Ron Valles, who gave a truly wonderful performance on stage and kept the energy high all night! Thanks also to our DJs Arcie Lacson, CD Chris Camantigue for the great sound and music and all who rendered us beautiful songs by Allysa, Ricky Caoile, and CD Gustavo Guardado and his singing group of Palmdale chapter.
To April Camino and Pam Lee, thank you for your wonderful photography. Special thanks to the registration and raffle ticket volunteers headed by Allan 'Jok' Navarro and San Diego Chapter's Daniel Leano, Yono Mi, Ron Caringal, Myles LG, Jojo Gokim for a great job managing the lines, selling tickets and efficiently sorting out/ managing distribution of all chapter tshirts
giveaways with Adyco Guevarra and Jerry Castro. Furthermore, a MASSIVE thank you goes out for the efforts after the fun ended; the clean-up, headed by Joey Ducut with tireless effort of ER chapter Angelito Camino, Allan Dizon, Francis Avecilla, George Garcia Jr, Rolan C'Dale, Cht Ocampo, Derrick Reyes, Arnold, Memo, Jhayy Tolentino, was executed smoothly and efficiently. Yes, I was assured by the hall staff, we’ll get our deposit back Thank you also to all raffle donors, your generosity added so much excitement to the evening of fun.
And to cap off an incredible night, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for the presence of the very pillar of our club, Abe Borillo, Joel De Leon, Richard Dones, Arnold Kap Irving (not with us at the party - our ex-President Mandy Normandy Genato, Louie Rivera).
